HP Linux Imaging and Printing

Print, Scan and Fax Drivers for Linux

Installation - Step 4 - Setup your printer

Most distributions provide their own setup utility or GUI for installing HP devices. Check with your distribution for HPLIP support.

HPLIP comes with a HP Setup utility (hp-setup). This command line utility can quickly and automatically setup print and/or fax queues for HPLIP supported devices. HP-setup can be used as a reference for creating a generalized device setup GUI.

Follow the appropriate steps for how you want to setup your printer:

Add the printer using HP-SETUP (hp-setup will not work with HPLIP 0.9.7 and below)

Add the printer using the CUPS web interface

Add the printer in SUSE using YasT

Note: For additional setup options using the hp-setup tool type "hp-setup --help" at your console/terminal window or view this man page.
