Even though we recommend using the Automatic Installation process to install HPLIP, the manual installation is a more traditional method to download and install HPLIP. However, bear in mind that it is more technically involved and may require a degree of knowledge that new Linux users find more difficult than they would prefer. Specifically, the process requires that you manually install dependencies and run build and install commands in a console/terminal.
